Upcoming Fundraiser at Clever Bottle!

Logan and I had an informal meeting earlier this week to discuss fundraising for the film–there are tons of expenses to account for, and since we don’t want to take any money that the Red Cross might use for inoculations, we plan to pay all of our costs out-of-pocket and via fundraising separate from inoculation fundraising. We’re planning to approach airlines for sponsorship, but that still leaves our visa applications, vaccinations, food and accommodations on site, and a variety of unforeseen circumstances. I expect this project may end up costing between $15,000 and $20,000; perhaps a laughably low or high number, depending on how things work out for us and how our scope changes as we continue on the project.

Due to Logan’s tight schedule and our desire to get things going quickly, we decided to kick things off with a few small events. We got our donation page all set up today, are planning to visit the Ballard Farmer’s Market this weekend to tell people about the project and ask for donations, and most importantly, Clever Bottle in Belltown has agreed to host a fundraiser for us, tentatively slated for April 24th. In addition to our fundraising that evening, Clever Bottle will donate 10% of profits earned that night to us. We’re so grateful to them for allowing us to use their space, and we hope to see you all there!

We’ll have more details to come, so be sure to check back soon. And if you can’t wait to donate, you can visit our donation page now. Every bit helps!
